In 1888, the Loden mill in Mandling was founded by Phillip and Aloisia Stiegler. The current name 'Steiner' came about in 1910 when Franz Steiner took over the business. After the Second World War, Loden was increasingly used as functional clothing. After the change to the 4th generation in 1970, the decision was made in 2001 to produce finished products for the end consumer, such as blankets and hot water bottles.
