Wagenfeld lamp WG 24 / table lamp
The Wagenfeld lamp is one of the most famous lamps the Bauhaus period. It was designed in 1924 by Wilhelm Wagenfeld. After an apprenticeship in a silverware factory and attending a drawing academy, he was accepted as a journeyman in the world-famous Bauhaus workshop and created the design classic W24, the "Wagenfeld lamp", or also called the "Bauhaus lamp". With his designs made of metal and glass, Wagenfeld became one of the most important industrial designers of his time. The WG 24 Wagenfeld lamp consists of an opal-colored glass dome, the base and column are made of clear glass and the surrounds are made of nickel-plated metal. The metal hemispheres under the base plate give the lamp its "light-footedness". The lamp is made according to the original dimensions and materials by Tecnolumen The Wagenfeld lamp was awarded the federal prize “Gute Form” in 1982 and was one of the “Best 200 for the year 2000”.
