Designed by Mariano Fortuny in 1907, this floor lamp is considered a timeless icon. Fortuny revolutionized stage lighting with an innovative indirect lighting system. The base was inspired by an adjustable camera tripod, while the reversible, tilting lampshade created a new instrument for directing light. Few design projects can be reinterpreted so repeatedly while still retaining their distinctive character. One example is the new version with silver fabric from the Rubelli weaving mill.
