Cassina / 699 Superleggera / Chair

The 699 Superleggera wooden chair, produced in 1957, is an exclusive synthesis between the architect's studies and the great experimental spirit of the Meda company, and with its extreme artisanal elegance it has become an undisputed icon and a masterpiece of modernism. Gio Ponti took years to perfect this chair, working on the triangular section of the 18 mm thin legs until it reached its current lightweight of just 1,700 grams.
