Buy design classics now: Why floor models are the smartest choice

An Eames Lounge Chair, a USM Haller sideboard, an E1027 by Eileen Gray — anyone who decides on a design classic rarely makes a spontaneous choice. The moment after the decision is all the more sobering: When buying new, there is often a 10 to 16-week wait between ordering and delivery. And the full list price is paid.

Exhibition pieces: The original is already here

• Immediately available: No waiting for production — the piece is here with us and goes directly to shipping or for collection.
• Checked by specialist retailers: Every piece comes from our own exhibition, cared for by people who have known this furniture for decades.
• Significantly reduced: We offer exhibition pieces and individual items noticeably below the list price — for classics, a saving that can quickly reach four figures.
• More sustainable: A piece of furniture that already exists does not need to be newly produced.

Original or replica? How to recognize a genuine piece

The market for classics is full of replicas. You can recognize an original by three things:

• License: In Europe, the Eames Lounge Chair is manufactured exclusively by Vitra, the LC series by Le Corbusier exclusively by Cassina, and the E1027 by Eileen Gray by ClassiCon. No other manufacturer is authorized.
• Marking: Originals carry a manufacturer's logo, serial number, or signature — for the Lounge Chair, for example, the Vitra nameplate under the seat shell.
• Source of supply: Authorized specialist retailers like architare source directly from the manufacturer. You receive full manufacturer warranty and genuine provenance.
